Handhufushi Resort
Handhufushi Resort & Spa is the only resort built on Herathera Island, Addu Atoll. In Dhivehi, the Maldivian language, Herathera means a hideaway or sanctuary. It is here that we find the unspoiled natural beauty which helps us to forget the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and enjoy the peace and relaxation we seek on a holiday in the Maldives. Herathera Island Resort or Han’dhufishi from J Resort, surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and long stretches of white, sandy beach, is the only resort on the island of Herathera, a 20 minute speedboat transfer from Gan International Airport, on the island of Gan. Gan is about a 70 minute flight south of Hulhule International Airport, the main airport near Male’. After about 55 of the 70 minute flight, your flight crosses the equator then continues about 15 minutes to Gan.
Room Types and Facilities Available
300 Rooms including 180 Beach Villas and 120 Jacuzzi Beach Villas. All rooms features tropical décor, king size bed, wood floor, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, sitting area, stocked mini bar with refrigerator, tea/coffee machine, IDD telephone, flat screen LCD cable TV, CD/DVD player, personal safe, partially open-air bathroom with shower, bath accessories and hair dryer, a porch with lounge furniture and nightly turndown service. Electricity is 220VAC, 50HZ. Also provided is complimentary use of chaise lounges at the pools and beach and beach towels.
Beach Villas
The 180 Beach Villas are individual wooden bungalows located on the beach, offering a beautiful view of the lagoon or ocean and with a private, walled-in backyard covered with white sand, chaise
lounges, a shade umbrella and tropical plants.
Jacuzzi Beach Villas
The 120 Jacuzzi Beach Villas are individual wooden bungalows located on the beach, offering a beautiful view of the lagoon or ocean and with a more spacious bedroom, a four poster bed, and a jacuzzi for two “under the stars” on top of the wooden decked, private, walled-in backyard with chaise lounges, a shade umbrella and tropical plants.
Guests of 15 years and older are welcome in the Jacuzzi Beach Villas.
Dining
Two main “sister” restaurants - The Kilhi for Beach Villa guests and The Keimaa for Jacuzzi Beach Villa guests. Both restaurants feature the same “all you can eat” buffet style meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, served in a traditional open-air dining room with sand floor and thatch roof.
Two “optional” à la carte dinner restaurants - The Kalhibih specializing in a grilled seafood menu and The Malaafah, specializing in Asian Cuisine
An “optional” snack menu is available to guests seated around the swimming pools or at the bars

The Meeraa Bar is located near Reception beside the swimming pool

Beverage is served in the two main buffet dining rooms, the two à la carte dinner restaurants, from the snack menu, for room service and special events.
